Here are John's comments: A small field, but a fast one turned out for the Almonte Bicycle Club first 40k TT for 2010. Cool temps and a light NW breeze kept the conditions from being ideal. All 18 riders finished. Celia had the most colourful bicycle, adorned as it was with a bouquet of flowers. Fastest was Warren MacDonald (nine2five) with a time of 53:54; fastest from the ABC was Peter James in a time of 69:55. Fastest female was Wendy Blagdon (cyclery) in a time of 66:17; fastest ABC female was Celia McInnis in a time of 73:16. Glen Budgell had a course best; and Sergei Konov, Neil Farish, and Parham Momtahan had personal best times.
Here are Celia's comments: Note that 3 riders improved upon their previous best on this course today, while 12 were within 90% of their previous database best on this course - not bad for a May time trial!
Next 15k TT; meet at Union Hall, Tues., June 1, at 6:30 pm. Note: 1/2 hour later than in May. The next 40k TT is scheduled for Sun., July 4, meet at Calabogie Boat Launch at 7:45 am.
